You're welcome for the advice. I'm happy to pass on my experience. As I wrote, your mileage may vary.

Apropos what I highlighted. My job requires me "to be in the middle of the action" and my wife has had similar experiences, so we like our little "garden oasis" home where we can chill in private and "go to the action" only when we want. Different strokes!

As I've written before, I'm looking forward to reading about your experience. I enjoyed the process you are going through immensely, and as my wife and I discussed while wandering through a Christmas market a few weeks ago, the feeling of learning about the city and the feeling of a tourist's "wide-eyed-wonder" has never gone away for us.

We've been (and I think you are) incredibly lucky to end up where we are (my wife and I partly by chance, you and your wife by design). People save their whole lives to take a vacation to Vienna to see what we see on a random Tuesday. We are super grateful for our luck, and again I'm really excited to read about your similar process!
