You’re preaching to the choir, my friend. I’m old enough to remember when the NRA was all about teaching kids gun safety, before they became a gun lobby promoting fear of our fellow Americans to fill their wallets. I’d be happy with an Australian style solution to mass shootings, but I’m realistic enough about the US to know that isn’t going to happen.

I’m also realistic in understanding that in a country filled with poor, desperate people who see virtually no future AND who also happen to have easy access to weapons of war, a certain small percentage of them are going to perform some seriously horrible acts. That is the reality of the 21st century US.
