You're incorrect, Lester. Genocide is a matter of numbers, actions and intentions. From the UN:
"In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:
a) "Killing members of the group;
b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group"
Israel's actions against Gaza since October 7 (at least) fulfill the criteria above. There are so many quotes from high level Israeli government officials that you could spend all day watching videos about them. Here is one - 8 years old - of an Irish MP reading quotes from the Netanyahu gov't:

Israel has agency. They choose how to act. Israel is committing genocide. A majority of the world sees it. Fortunately for Israel - for now - the top of the US government sees the advantages of having a Mid-East vassal are greater than the disadvantages. The longer Israel's genocide against Gazans continues, and the more blatant they are about it, the larger the disadvantages for the US will grow.
I expect it will be one of those situations in history books (if we're lucky enough to be around to have and read them) that (if it happens) will be obvious in hindsight. "It was at this point that Israel lost US support." In the present fluid situation it is impossible to call definitively.
You're incorrect on several other points but the one about genocide is the most important. I think it is possible, if not yet likely, that if Israel continues down this path then Israel as a Jewish ethno-state will not survive this century.
