I've been lucky enough to have enough money to live well, and I have spent time with the mega-wealthy (e.g. armed guards at the house big enough to be a hotel, homes in multiple European capitals just for staying in when someone from the family is in that town).

I don't think anyone should be allowed to be rich enough to own a private island. Particularly citizens of countries where a huge percentage of the population are living hand to mouth.
