You missed my point. See Matt Wasserman's comment I was agreeing with. Until we look at the emissions of the entire supply chain and reduce those to zero or near zero, we're just going to continue to shuffle extraction and production around the globe, pat ourselves on the back for progress in some areas that is offset by regression in others. i.e. making EVs, particularly batteries, is much dirtier than making ICE cars.
Home and business battery business is new, as is home and business power power generation. That is a lot of additional wiring that is currerntly not needed. The wiring required is also heavier gauge than you have in your walls for a wall socket. Not mentioned in my earlier comment is all the coming EV charging stations will also need batteries and heavy duty wiring.
The point is this is additional copper and mineral needs that need to be taken into account when looking at total emissions in changing to an electric future.
