You know all about the war, but claim to know nothing of the history of Donetsk? It may be "strange" to you that Ukraine forces were shelling Ukraine, but it is a continued shelling of purely civilian targets, a war crime.
Ukrainians shelling invading Russian forces is war, and it is definitely the right of the Ukrainians to do that.
Ukrainians shelling a nuclear power plant while claiming it is the Russians is a) lying, and b) risking a serious nuclear accident. Ukraine can do it, but they bare the responbility if they blow a hole in a reactor.
I think there are no good guys in this war except the Ukrainian civilians, and arguably the conscripts on both sides who war forced to fight.
Ukraine signed the Minsk II accords in 2015 and never implemented them. That alone probably would have avoided this war. That is on Ukraine.
It is confirmed by the OSCE that Ukraine had increased shelling of the Donbas by 3x in the weeks before Russia invaded. That is on Ukraine.
Russia invaded (they say) because Ukraine was about to send 60,000 troops into the Donbas plus the shelling, plus several other non-trivial issues, like NATO membership. But Russia DID invade rather than continue to try for a diplomatic solution. That is on Russia.
The US backed the coup in 2014, and has been openly (in the US) using Ukraine as a proxy to fight Russia. This is not debatable. There is video and transcripts of US senators and high active and retired military leaders saying this openly at least since 2018. That is on the US.
So again, there are no good guys in this war except the Ukrainian civilians, and arguably the conscripts on both sides who war forced to fight.
