Yes, but if Haber and Bosch hadn't discovered and invented nitrogen-based fertilizer, then a lot of us would not be. In 1798 Malthus could not have been expected to know that a world-changing invention would be made in 1909. That famine part would definitely have come true for large swaths of the planet.

Fast forward to 2022 and one of the main reasons that the Western-based sanctions on Russia failed after their invasion of Ukraine is because the Haber-Bosch process needs fuel and natural gas, of which Russia has a huge amount and Western Europe and the US does not. Therefore countries around the world are going to buy fertilizer from Russia and Belarus, two of the worlds largest suppliers, either directly or indirectly.

International leaders, particularly those in poorer, less industrially developed nations, aren't going sign their own death warrants (political or physical) by refusing to buy fertilizer for their people just because the US MIC wants to increase their profit margins by having a proxy war in Ukraine.
