Yeah, I went to school in the US and also moved a couple times, so I have no friends from before high school. My son grew up in Austria, and he still has friends from elementary school (Volkschule). He was with the same kids and had the same teacher (with whom will still have contact) the entire time he was there. IMO a better system than the US.
