Why would Clinton pick this random day to attack Tulsi? This attack helps Tulsi with her White House bid, and doesn’t help Clinton. Or does it? I think it is no coincidence that on Friday the AP reported “38 people cited for violations in Clinton email probe.” That AP story got no oxygen except on the right (Breitbart), because everyone else was covering the shiny object of another baseless Clinton redbaiting smear.

Clinton has been raising her visibility as the Dem primary ramps up. A story underlining one of the reasons Clinton lost in 2016 — making it clear that it was not a “nothing burger” — is exactly the kind of punch Clinton needs to avoid in her attempt to retain relevance and power, especially as Chelsea is thinking about running for office. Whatever you think about the Clintons, they are almost always ready with a counter move when one of their scandals gets press.
