And there's the rub. Your last line about our "shared economic future" assumes that the 1% see us as having a shared future. The ultra-wealthy don't give a fuck about reversing the trends that restarted in the 80s after a 50+ year hiatus. They know that they will NEVER share an economic future with those 12 million at the bottom.
