What is missing here is the perpetrator. You mention Hamas and Palestinian babies being killed, but not that those babies are being killed by Israelis (potentially a war crime) inside the Gaza Strip, which is - according to the UN of which Israel is a member - occupied territory. Israel bombing and killing babies inside Gaza IS A WAR CRIME. There is no denying that fact. Israel blocking aid from getting in IS A WAR CRIME.

I believe that what Isreal is committing is genocide. The ICJ has so far said there is a plausible argument that the war crimes Israel is committing are genocide, but they have not ruled definitively, as such a judgement will take years for them to reach.

What is NOT up for debate is the Isreal is CHOOSING to kill those babies; choosing to destroy buildings; choosing to block aid to starving people. That is on Israel and Isreal alone.

This war didn't start on 7 October. It started 100 years ago with the beginning of ethnic cleansing in the then "Palestine Mandate" of Great Britain, and ramped up massively with the founding of Israel in 1948. That is about 40 years and thousands of dead Palestinians before Hamas even existed.
