What I mean by marginal gain is that speculation is investing for the purpose of short term, often small gains. Long term investment is a strategy for asset accumulation and passive revenue streams.

They of course have the same goal of producing profit. Speculation is a disrupter to the market. It adds volatility and risk for all investors through bubble creation.

Note that this all is referring to real estate. Commodities and currencies are different classes of investment.

I have no idea what you mean by your last sentence, but I'd appreciate if you would stop speculating on what you think I think. Discussions work better when you stick to presenting your points, I stick to presenting my points, and both of us refrain from stating what the other person believes, wants, feels, and/or thinks.
