It really is that simple.

Meaning you trade some privacy and individual authority for shared costs on things like roofs, garages, exteriors, and management.

The ONLY way a condo can be more expensive for an individual at the same location and build quality is if someone has been taking extra short-term profits at the expense of long-term profits.

That comes back to government regulations and doing your due diligence before buying. A $40k expense doesn't just "appear."
