We can agree to disagree on Hannes' calcs. I've known him over 30 years, and he is VERY detailed in his analysis.

If you looked on-line, you see this years' models. Mine looks great, but is a bit different in form. Black, 28" wheels. Great for the riding I do. And thanks, I really like it, too and think it looks great!

I love the Netherlands. I lived there 1/2 time for over 3 years. I liked walking and looking at the architecture so much that I didn't get a bike (I had no car). In hindsight I still don't think that was a mistake. You see more and see less the faster you travel.

I had a wonderful time there and until the pandemic I would visit at least once a year just to walk the old paths. Other than Vienna it is one of the few places I really thought about staying. Boy would that have been a fork in my life's journey!

Yes, Dutch biking is "a thing." Definitely better to go with utility, particularly if your bike stands outside or has a chance to end up someone's "joy ride" and then in a canal!

I need to get a rack for my bike. I carry a backpack every day to the gym, but in the sommer it gets really hot here and my pack gets rather rank after a couple weeks. Also I could do more shopping than I already do. My wife is picking out saddlebags for her bike right now for many of the same reasons.
