Waters is neither.

Putin is not Hitler. Not even close. Hitler was an ideologue. A true believer in the antisemitism he saw Karl Lueger use to great political gain as mayor of Vienna during the years Hitler lived in Vienna.

Putin is like every other greedy strongman who comes to power. From the Shah of Iran to Saddam Hussein to Ferninand Marcos to Augusto Pinochet, to Bashar Al-asaad to Mohamar Gaddafi. These men want power and wealth. Hitler wanted power; not to increase his wealth first and foremost, but to advance his ideology. Putin and all the guys above were/are all about looting their countries while ruling and setting up personal dynasties.

The difference between Putin and more than half the guys on that list is that Putin is no longer subservient to the US. You'll note every single dictator that we turn against is compared to Hitler.

They are not Hitler. For those of us with family who directly suffered under Hitler - including those who lived under the USSR, the comparison is laughable and insulting.
