Very interesting story, but you really should refer to Oma as "Dorothea's Oma." By the time I got to this point I was thinking, "'Oma's grandaughter?" But wait, you must be cousins."
"Oma" literally means "grandmother." My son refers to his Austrian grandmother as "Oma." I refer to her as "Claudia"** Only when talking alone to him or other immediate family members will I call her Oma just to make things less confusing or as a term of endearment.
Anyway, it was a very interesting story.
