Very interesting.
For anyone wanting to see what it was like to be a longbow archer, next time you're in a weight room go to the dumbbell rack, grab a 45 kg (100 lb) dumbbell (if you can), then go to a bench and do a "bent over dumbbell row" with your dominant arm. The other arm (bracing you on the bench) would be holding the bow.
Below is a link to a famous youtube fitness guru. He is probably only rowing 20 kgs or so. 45-90 kgs? Yikes!
