Turkey is beautiful and has so many incredible historical sites it is hard to overstate how interesting it is. I've been traveling there for 20+ years, and doing business there for about 15. Really nice people in general (like pretty much everywhere).

Bring hard currency and don't exchange for Liras unless you must and you'll be just fine.
