Those are outstanding questions, IMO. Why indeed was some of the best press that Trump got when he illegally bombed Syria (to name one example).
I also supported Gabbard and hoped that she would catch fire like Bernie did in 2016. I think she did not partly because she touched and even more charged “political third rail” — taking on the MIC and our endless foreign wars — than Bernie did taking on the neopolitical powers running the government since the 1980s.
There are still plenty of voters who remember the US before the middle-class was hollowed out. There are very few voters that remember the US before we were completely dominated by the MIC.
