This was super interesting, as usual. I was also most surprised - and then not - by how people 100 years ago thought we would do more underwater. That is a very logical extrapolation from the exploration and expansion we colonists had done up until 1900.
I hope that we will have turned things around and are moving to a sustainable future by 2200. Unfortunately, I expect the world will be suffering through the results of our denial of rapid human-caused (anthropogenic) climate change. It won't be pretty for most of the planet's larger inhabitants, including humans. Fortunately for me, I'll be pushing up daisies by then.
