This issue has been on the table since 2019, when people like Andrea Mitchell were talking about it openly in the corporate media.

The Dems have noone to blame but themselves for canceling the primaries this year to protect Biden from challengers who would now have name recognition and be ready to take the baton.

I don't really even like Gavin Newsom, but if there had been Dem primaries he'd be a nationwide household name instead of just known to the West coast and political junkies.

The fact that the Dems put themselves in this sistuation is (IMO) all the more reason NOT to support Biden. We're talking about the president FFS. If a quick decision has to come from the White House, I want to know that the president had at least some say in it, otherwise we have no democracy. That is where we are now.
