"This is why they can describe terrorists as victims and the innocent people who they rape and murder as oppressors."

How ironic that you talk about "not seeing room for nuance."

Hamas has definitely committed acts of terror. Yet many of them are also victims of decades of oppression and abuse. Living your entire life in a concentration camp is going to affect you, and not in a good way.

The first 400 or so killed by Hamas were Israeli soldiers and police, who are the occupying army holding the Palestinians. Under international law, Palestinians have the right to kill them in their resistance to occupation. The killing of civilians is illegal, of course, as it taking civilian hostages.

We also can see from the video now coming out that some good percentage of the 1400 killed on 7 October were killed by weapons that Hamas does not have access to, but Israel does. It appears that many innocent civilians were killed by the Israelis looking to kill Palestinians.

There is your nuance. There are no good guys and bad guys here. Just generational pain and suffering on both sides. That being said, the numbers don't lie. Israel is doing the majority of illegal killing and breaking the majority of international laws, and the ratio isn't even close to 1:1. More like 20:1.

I don't see this ending well for Israel.
