This is patently false. It removes Israel's agency.
Israel could choose to stop the occupation of Gaza and the West Bank and negotiate in good faith with the Palestinians. Israel has never done this.
The resistance to Israel by Hamas (found in 1988, 40 full years after Israel) is a reaction to Israeli violence.
Hamas did not form in a vacuum. During periods of relative peace, the popularity of Hamas has decreased. The Palestinians don't want violence, but they will not accept being wiped out of existence by the Israelis.
No state has the right to exist. I live in a country (Austria) that up until about 100 years ago was a huge empire that lasted 800 years. In a matter of 4 years the Austro-Hungarian empire ceased to exist.
Israel has to exist in peace with its population and neighbors, or sooner or later it will also cease to exist. Trying to force peace at the tip of a spear or sword or the barrel of a gun only works for so long, as history has shown over and over.
It is up to Israel to find that peace. Right now Israel is doing (IMO) everything to assure it will not last another 80 years.
