This is not correct. “Half of Europe” does have minimum wages, but not a “US type single national” hourly minimum wage.

In western Europe, most all jobs, including white collar jobs, are union jobs. There are also a lot of different unions for different industries (job types). The unions set monthly/yearly salary levels (ranges) for different job types, experience levels, years of service, etc.

“Half of Europe” has said they don’t need an hourly minimum wage, because they already have a very detailed minimum salary system that is negotiated periodically between the various unions and chambers of commerce.
