This is a good list, I think. I'm doing a lot better today than when I was younger. Improving over "Jack from Yesterday" is my mantra.

A long time ago a friend asked me if he should ask his girlfriend to marry him. I told him bluntly that I think he could do better. He married her. She never finished college. They have two kids in school. She doesn't work. AFAIK she's an alcoholic and they have a codependent love-hate relationship. I write AFAIK because my info comes second hand after we eventually had a huge falling out (thanks to my ex-friend's wife getting drunk, bad mouthing and then starting a fight with my wife...at our wedding reception). The universe has spared me from anyone asking me that question since then.
