This doesn't make sense to me. When building a business, salaries/staff ARE expensive. But who says staff has equity?

Hiring staff is a VERY different decision than giving equity to staff. I've done a lot of the former, and very little of the latter. As a result, my successful business belongs almost exclusively to me.
