The war crimes committed by Hamas on 7 October 2023 were horrendous. Civilians should never be targeted or kidnapped.

3000 Hamas fighters with small arms do not have the capacity to commit genocide. The will, possibly, but not the capacity. The definition of genocide requires that you have the capacity.

Hamas' goal on 7 October was to kill a bunch of Israelis and take a bunch of hostages to trade for Palestinian hostages. They were far more successful than they expected. Their goal was not to wipe out all Jews, or even wipe out a portion of Jews. Hamas could not know who they killed or kidnapped were Jews.

Otherwise every killing of a Jew by an anti-Semite, and every killing of an Arab by an Islamophobe would be genocide.

Where I currently live is an ad hominem non sequitur from the subject at hand. It shows a weakness of your arguments to suggest that the country I currently live in has some bearing on the merits of my arguments.
