The US is a classic Beta Male posing as an Alpha Male.
@Dan O below says what so many in the US believe.
"In the 20th century WERE the alpha males." No, we were the beta males really good at timing and very rich from a few centuries of chattel slavery.
We didn't win WWI. We came in at the end.
We didn't win Europe in WWII. The USSR did the heavy lifting. We surely helped, no doubt. But if there had been no eastern front (Operation Barbarossa) then my analysis says we would not have retaken France and then Western Europe, even with the British and continental resistance fighters.
We beat Japan in WWII. That is true. Have you seen the size of Japan?
We fought to a draw in Korea.
We lost Vietnam.
We beat Grenada!
Do I have to go on?
The US has been afraid it's entire existance. Afraid of slave rebellions. Afraid of the indigenous Americans. We are the classic bully who beats up much weaker adversaries. We make up myths about our brave cowboys "fightin' the injins." Myths about WWI, and WWII.
This is of course smart from a hegemonic point of view. But it is not Alpha Male leadership.
TL;DR; America has an Alpha Male myth problem, not an Alpha male problem.
