The US backed a color revolution in Ukraine - openly meddling in their election, in 2004.

That didn't bring the result we wanted, so we backed a violent coup in 2014 and replaced the democratically elected Ukrainian government with one we liked, and we have controlled Ukraine's government ever since.

I find it astounding that US empire apologists always start history when a US adversary takes a bold step to avoid being overthrown by the US, and the US states - "Look how bad [fill in the blank with about 50 countries/leaders in the last 70 years] is! We must invade and destroy their country to save them!" As if nothing happened in - in this case Ukraine - prior to February 2022.
