The smear campaign against Assange has been a singular success. Twitter is filled with posts from fascist apoligists cheering for an independent publisher to be arrested for publishing the secrets of the powerful, while the vast majority of “good Germans” (the original meaning, not the 2006 film) say nothing at all.
