The sharing economy was never about sharing. The “sharing economy” is a trojan horse term to mask how late-stage capitalism can extract wealth from the masses after most of the main sources of wealth have already been extracted.

Few people who are financially comfortable will rent out a spare room to strangers or drive their own car as a taxi after their regular job. They do it because they don’t earn a living wage at one job.

“Regulation” is a synonym for “citizen protection” (with some corrupt exceptions). Thus, “deregulation” is just code for more exploitation of workers and fewer protections for customers.
