The problem is entitlement: I see it all the time in my American-resident family and not in my EU-resident family.

Americans talk about the things they "should" have gotten to do but didn't because of Covid. I've got some bad news for you sunshine. The world doesn't "owe" you an event. Just because your mother/father/older brother/whomever got to do it, doesn't mean the world owes you the same experience. Shit happens.
