The number of Palestinians alive today does not negate the charge of genocide. Here is a link for you:
Nowhere does it state that a specific number of people must be killed in a specific amount of time for the killings to be considered genocide.
This is not a war. A war can only exist between two states. Palestine is not a state. This is Israel, an occupying power (according to the UN to which Israel is a member) illegally attacking territory that Israel occupies. It is quite simple.
Yes, Americans killed lots of innocent civilians in Germany, and Germans killed a lot of innocent civilians in many lands. As a result, the UN members agreed to laws of war after WWII - to avoid exactly the crimes that Israel is now committing and which Israel - and you - are trying to justify based on actions which UN members have agreed are war crimes.
Zionists agreed with Nazis before and during WWII, so don't act like Israelis are innocent victims.
"Keeping people locked up" as Israel is doing is a war crime, plain and simple. Hamas says explicitly in their charter that they are anti-Zionist because the Zionists are stealing their land, but that Hamas has no problem with Jews.
"Israel allowed them to have free elections" you write. You have outed yourself right there. If Israel has the power to "allow" Palestinians to have elections, then by definition they are not fair. Israel creating an open air prison of Gaza, and since 7 October a siege of Gaza (another in a long list of Israeli war crimes). The only way Israel can do that is if Palestine is NOT free.
Definitely neither Hamas nor Israel is innocent, on that I 100% agree. The problem is that Israel is founded on settler colonialism - stealing Palestinian land to make a Jewish ethno-state. That was illegal and until that crime is addressed and both sides come to an agreement, the violence will continue.
