The longer this war has gone on, the worse for European governments and parties supporting it and better for governments and parties against it.

Ukraine could never win this proxy war, as Obama pointed out very well in 2016; "Ukraine is a core Russian interest but not an American one, so Russia will always be able to maintain escalatory dominance there."
