The first car I can remember was my parents' Mark 2. The smell was wonderful. They had an XK120 before I was born, and until I was much older, the story was that my dad sold the XK to buy my mom's wedding ring. The last car my dad had before he died was an XJ.

Jags were beautiful but overly complex (i.e. English cars). Sinuous. Feline. Curvy. For the last 10+ years, Jaguars look like everything else. So why would anyone pay a premium for them?

The generation with a nostalgic connection to those great cars of the 50s and 60s are nearly all dead. The logo looks like something for a handbag, not a car, and certainly not a premium car.
