The actual sexual practices are not really the issue. It is the social acceptance of those practices.

The US, where I was born and lived (multiple places) until I was in my late 20s, and Europe, where I've lived (multiple places) for the last 30 years, are VERY different in their attitudes about sexuality, particularly their acceptance of people's right to privacy in their bedroom.

The strict moral judgments against anything other than "Bible accepted" sex in the US has only loosened in the last decade or so (in general). Also in general, this is where the majority of what is now the EU was 50+ years ago.

The US is getting MORE restrictive on, for example, abortion, where in the EU it is completely understood that it is a woman's decision what to do with her own body.
