That would be a dangerous precedent for us, Max. Using that logic, Iraqis, Iranians, Syrians, Yemenis, Libyans would all be justified in killing US civilians because we voted for the US presidents who destroyed their countries and killed millions of their civilians.

There have been no elections in Gaza in 16 or 17 years. Half of Gazans are under 18. Meaning that the VAST majority of Gazans were either not born on not of voting age when the last election in Gaza occurred.

With 1/2 of Gaza being children and 70%+ not being old enough to have voted for Hamas (who only got 45% of the vote in 2006), there are at most probbably 15% (statistically) of living Gazans who voted for Hamas. That is about the same as voted for George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004.

Should Iraqis have the right to kill you and your family for what Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld did in 2003, Max?

What you're arguing for is collective punishment, and that is a war crime. Justifying the siege of Gaza because Hamas will use some of anything going into the country for their jihadi aims is also a war crime. Bombing one of the most densely populated areas on earth and killing thousands of civilians and justifying it because there are Hamas militants nearby is ALSO a war crime.

The only solution is an immediate ceasefire, an exchange of hostages/prisoners and immediate talks to establish a 2 state solution. Neither Israel nor the Palestinians will ever live in peace until that happens.

The current path is genocide, with a high probability for a regional war and a medium-high probabilty of a world war.

It was a weak and fractured Austria that made an ultimatum to Serbia after Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. Four years and 40 million deaths later the Austrian empire was no more.

It is not 1991. It is not 1914 or 1941. We have nuclear weapons and the majority of the world's population is NOT on our side.

We can't keep Ukraine armed fighting Russia. Add in Iran, Syria, Iraq, several African nations oh, and that tiny country of China and we're looking at too many conflicts to fight at once.

Ironically, Serbia is seeing how thin we are spread and itching to get back Kosovo by possibly violent means.
