The older I get the more I realize how lucky I was in my childhood. No weird uncles touching me or my siblings. No alcoholics (then, later yes, but I was already grown and moved out). No beatings. Food on the table and a roof over my head.

We were dysfunctional, but not in ways that ended lives. We were far from rich, but not poor. I was really lucky. Thanks for reminding me.
