That is patently untrue.

First: If it was true, then there would be no "invasion of Ukraine" because Ukraine would still be part of Russia.

Seconde: The Soviet Union was much bigger and included nations that then became part of NATO.

The argument is much easier to make that NATO exists to destroy Russia. Since NATO is now expanding world-wide and setting up shop in Asia around China, it would be just as easy to say that NATO exists to destroy America's economic rivals.
