That is not a new problem. One of the reasons that pseudoscience is finding a bigger audience is that mainstream science is being censored - openly - to political ends.

I'm an engineer who works solving practical problems in industry going on 40 years. There are physical laws, yes, but there at the edge of science, particularly relatively new science, closing down debate only makes people suspicious and more likely to believe charlatans.

We in the West censor more than ever now. In the history of the world, the people doing the censoring never turn out to be the good guys in history. Never.
