That is a powerful story and puts thing in perspective.

I had my motorcycle stolen at gun point. It happened slowly, and then all at once. Even if I had somehow "seen it coming" the guy was 10 feet away from me and the pistol had a laser sight. I could see the red dot on top of the barrel pointed at me.

No fucking way was the bike that I loved worth my life. Life is not a movie. Had I tried to tackle him before he pulled the gun I sure could have taken him down. I was much bigger than him. But I didn't know he had a gun. I could have ended up like Trayvon Martin.

The situation changed me like it changed you. I made sure to avoid such situations as much as I could. And I fucking hate guns. I understand their appeal and use. I still fucking hate guns.
