That depends heavily (pun intended) on where you train. At gyms where professional athletes, particularly power lifters train, you can learn an enormous amount about physiology and physics. I personally know multiple people with advanced degrees who write books and travel the world teaching other people how to maximize the performance of each individual's body.

Examples: grip width, arm angle and bar path for bench press; grip style, foot placement, hip and knee angle for deadlift.

There is no "one" answer. Torso length, arm length, thigh length, maximum ankle angle, etc., etc. are all interdependent on how to "lift heavy (and ever more heavy) things and put them down."

Now add nutrition, age, sleep, stress, and a few other factors in the fantastic progress (yes progress!) that has been made in understanding how to maximize each individual's athletic potential. It is a never-ending learning process.
