Thanks for the kind words. My sister and I have a "bi-lateral support group" with input from our spouses. I live abroad, so my sister has the "in-person" part of the deal which (IMO) is much harder than my part.
We have another sibling who supports mom's drinking and a fourth who refuses to "take a side" which is of course also taking a side. The one who supports mom's drinking lives the closest. This means there is really no hope for a change. My sister and I have/are, each in our own way, come to terms with this reality. It sucks, but we do not have the power to change it. Therapy helps! :-)
