Sure there is a lot to love about the Ewoks…but not as a fighting force to counter the Empire’s storm troopers. My wife loves stuffed animals, but she wouldn’t look to an animated one as a protector. Why not have the wookies come to Endor to protect and save their pygmy cousins from genocide? It was too much of a fairy tale, particularly after the really great Empire Strikes Back film.

Regarding Jar Jar…maybe I was a bit to ascerbic yesterday. Jar Jar is sweet, but Padme is too wise to put him in charge when she leaves. Why not the white-haired bearded guy who immediately knew Naboo would be invaded when communications were blocked. He seemed like a clever fellow.
