I've never been to Japan but always wanted to go. I have family and friends who have been, and even a friend/ex-colleague who lived there for decades and was married to a Japanese woman.

I find the culture extremely interesting, but not attractive** with the giant caveat that maybe if I lived there I would find it attractive. Maybe part of that is that I find oriental women can be incredibly beautiful, but not to me sexually attractive. Maybe that would also be different if I lived there. That will have to wait for another lifetime...
