Super interesting. I've wondered about this type of operation for years. I can see sociopathic oligarchs like Bezos, Gates and Musk doing this.

A dystopian variation is probably where we are going. The oligarchs find some young guy with no real future (thanks to the world the oligarchs have helped create). Bezos pays a willing donor $30 million or something. The 20 year old dies, but his family is set.

A darker (and just as probable) version is the oligarchs find donors either through human traffiking or by some young guy who suffering accidental (wink-wink) head trauma.
