Speak for yourself, not for me. I live and run my own business in Social Democractic Austria for 25+ years. I've done quite well for myself, but I know that if I'd had the same company and success in the US, I'd have a whole lot more wealth, and my employees (and society in general) would have a whole lot less.

I had two concrete offers to go back to the US 15+ and 20+ years ago to be a partner in firms similar to mine. I chose to stay here because it was clear to me that making it really hard to get really rich is also what helps pay for (MMT aside) making sure that it is really hard to get really poor.

The additional socialism here makes it a better society here than back in the US, and most people here feel the same. It is the constant propaganda in the US that brainwashes people to believe the US system is superior.
