Sadly I think the human brain compartmentalizes tragedy pretty well. The war in Ukraine is only one country away. Refugees are in the news daily. Germany (also next door) allegedly just had a coup attempt . The economy there is slowly collapsing. Energy prices and inflation are a huge question mark heading into winter. For those of us here in central Europe, Pakistan is a long ways away.

No doubt the problems Pakistan is facing are worse than those I'm facing, but my day is still full trying to address my own issues, even if they are smaller.
