Russia sells it's oil and gas to "unfriendly" (i.e. those with sanctions against Russia) in Rubles.
The price Russia sells to "friends" is cheaper than the open market, but far about last year's prices - because of the sanctions. So Russia actually makes more selling discount oil and gas in 2022 than they did at full price in 2021.
Friendly (to Russia) countries like India are buying shittons of oil...and then reselling to the EU at a markup. So we have gasoline at $8.50 / gallon...and in the end we're still buying Russian oil (not much in Austria, but the EU in general).
I don't know the details yet about natural gas, but I expect the situation is somewhat similar.
