PHEV are to my mind the best of both worlds while we transition away from fossile fuels. The range and infrastructure today are lacking, but (if we survive) in 10-15 years that will not be the case.

Jeeps are too wide and expensive for the rest of the world, but for the US they are great. Jeep may continue to dominate the US market, Toyota will dominate the rest of the world (I think)
